Warmachine & Hordes MKII 2010 Ladder League I
Sunday, January 10th – Sunday, March 28th

Joining the League
Anyone is welcome to join the ladder league at any time during each season. Once the league has begun, new players are added to the bottom of the ladder with 0 points. Entry is $10 and ALL of it goes into the prize pool.

When signing up, players must provide their full name, primary faction, email and phone number.

TWICE the Dedicated League Days
!
Now EVERY Thursday 6-10pm and EVERY Sunday 12-6pm! Dedicated Ladder League days are when you'll be able to pick up games and get in the most matches. You may also arrange to play on other days with members.

Participants in the league may contact the store to obtain player information and league standings in order to set up a future match.

Sportsmanship
Everyone wants to have a good time when playing in a League. Players must remain courteous and patient with their opponents and the League Organizer and accept all rulings made by the League Organizer whether or not they agree. The League Organizer always has the final word on rules questions and debates. When the League Organizer is not present, players should adhere to the rulebooks and the online FAQ (found at http://www.privateerpress.com/FAQ/) to settle rules disputes.

Painting, Proxies, and Conversions
Players are encouraged to have a fully painted force on the table. Not only does this make for a better experience by all, but you may win an award for best painted army. Although not required, players should take this chance to show off their skills in all aspects of the hobby.

All models used must be Privateer Press models. Conversions (modifications to Privateer Press models) are acceptable as long as they are clearly based on WARMACHINE models and do not have added or changed weapons. Conversions must represent the model from which they are most obviously drawn. Mixing and matching warjack weapons is not allowed. Trading a sword for a sword is acceptable, for example, but an altered Haley model cannot substitute for Sorscha. To avoid confusion and conflict players must have an unaltered version of the model available in case their opponent or the League Organizer does not accept the converted model. Players may not use proxies (substitute models) under any circumstances. A player cannot enter a League with an unreleased model.

Materials
Players must bring their armies, dice, measuring device, tokens, and any templates and wreck markers required for play. Players must bring stat cards for each model or unit in their army or horde. Tables and terrain will be provided by Dueling Grounds.

Scoring & the Ladder
The League Organizer tracks the position of each player participating in the League on a scoreboard called the Ladder. A player earns League Points each time he plays a game, and these determine a player’s standings on the Ladder. After the League starts, the player with the most League Points occupies the top rung of the Ladder and the player with the fewest League Points languishes at the bottom. As a player’s League Point total changes after every game, his position moves up and down the Ladder.

The number of League Points a player scores for playing a League game depends on the size of the game played and whether he won or lost. Each scenario includes primary and secondary victory conditions. Achieving a primary victory condition earns a player one (1) extra League Point.

Players receive additional League Points for beating opponents ahead of them on the Ladder. A player gains one (1) additional League Point for winning a game against a player two or three rungs above him, two (2) additional League Points for defeating a player four to seven rungs ahead, and three (3) additional League Points for beating an opponent eight or more rungs ahead.

Scoring Table Points
Playing up to a 25 point game 1
Winning up to a 25 point game +3

Playing up to a 35 point game 2
Winning up to a 35 point game +5

Playing a 50+ point game 3
Winning a 50+ point game +7

Winning by primary victory condition +1

Winning a game versus a player 2 - 3 rungs ahead +1
Winning a game versus a player 4 - 7 rungs ahead +2
Winning a game versus a player 8+ rungs ahead +3

Starting Positions
Players will be placed onto the Ladder in the order they sign up. During the first week, players that sign up on the same day will be randomly assigned positions. Despite this placement on the Ladder rather than earning their position through play, lower-ranked players still gain additional League Points for beating higher-ranked players.

Army Composition

Players need not play the same army throughout the League. A player is not required to finalize his army until he and his opponent settle on a point level for the game they are about to play.

Prizes
At the end of a season, outstanding players will be awarded medals and prizes as follows:

1st place: 40% of the prize pool
2nd place: 30% of the prize pool
3rd place: 15% of the prize pool
4th place: 15% of the prize pool

The store credit prize pool will increase $10 per player.
